Harvest got started SE of Storm Lake in late September and moved quickly from there. Depending on the neighborhood most of the soybeans were harvested by the first half of October and corn completed before the end of October. Dry conditions and just in time precipitation was the story line again this fall.

Yield results varied by location and quality of the soils on the farm. Generally speaking, soybean yields were respectable and corn yields were better than expected. More challenging soil types and dry pockets struggled.

Fall weather blessed farmers with a wide window to have fall field work completed. In addition, much of the planned fall fertilizer applications have been applied in good condition, especially anhydrous ammonia.
