The cool and wet weather continues for another week. Forecasts are finally calling for a warm up later this week. Corn planting will start when we have about 4 nice days in a row. Farmers will want to get the corn planted as soon as possible. The recent moisture will be very beneficial for this growing season, but a shift to hot and dry in June – July would put us right back into a drought situation. The grain markets are having a hard time maintaining any gains. Concerns about delayed planting could give the market a boost but traders won’t consider it a major problem until mid-May.
