This past week was cool and wet for the entire region. It was the first widespread heavy rain event we’ve seen in a long time. Storm Lake was on the line between getting rain and getting heavy snow.Areas to the north and west of us got more snow. Forecasts are calling for more of the same cool wet weather. The frost is out now so the rain is soaking in. The moisture is very beneficial for this growing season. In 2 or 3 weeks we may become more concerned with delayed planting, but right now we are happy with any rain we can get.The markets have recovered some of the losses form the negative March 28th USDA report, but slower than expected economic growth in China is holding it back. It may take a weather scare during the growing season to get back to where they were before the report.
