Counties of: Emmet, Palo Alto, Kossuth, Winnebago, Hancock, Humboldt, Wright, and Pocahontas

Past Weeks Rainfall: 1/2 to 1 1/4 inch
Soil Moisture: short
Temperature: 6 degrees above normal for the week
Crop Progress: ahead of normal

Corn

Crop Stage: Harvest is at full strength in the driest areas to the south, and is just getting started in the earliest corn to the north. Yield reports have been variable as expected, but the bias so far has been a little better than expected
Yield Potential: poor to good, highly dependant on location and soil type

Soybean

Crop Stage: Harvest is in the very earliest stages, expect most soybeans to reach maturity within the next week
Yield Potential: poor to fair, depending on location and soil type

Corn Market

Current Prices: $7.61/bu
Fall Prices: $7.59/bu
Past Weeks Trend: lower

Soybean Market

Current Prices: $16.71/bu
Fall Prices: $16.61/bu

Another mostly warm week. A storm front went through mid week, and left some good rain in places,but also some wind damage and isolated hail damage. The corn stalk quality continues to deteriorate,and any strong winds will increase lodging and potential field loss.
