Weather:
Mild Temperatures and Rainfall are again the case in most of Northwest Iowa. Many places received an inch to two inches over the past 7 to 10 days and it is raining in Storm lake as I write this. Temperature have hovered between highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s. Recent rainfall has allowed corn to finish out kernel fill strong and the soybeans to begin pod fill with a newly filled moisture profile. August rainfall and temperature is a huge determining factor for soybean yield and we are doing well in both this month. Many corn fields are mid kernel fill with some fields starting to dent, while soybeans are setting pods and beginning to fill them in many fields.

Grain Markets:
A USDA report that showed improved crop condition quality and yield potential drove markets severely lower.Recent movement has been back and forth in both commodities with an overall downward trend
