Cool days and nights has been slowing growth in early planted corn. Heat units have only added up to 50 so far this growing season, averaging roughly 5-10 a day. In addition to the low heat unit count, some late frost has had a small effect on the health of early emerged corn plants.

Corn markets continue to drift lower after the USDA report Friday. Soybeans are recovering some but overall, they are still down from two weeks ago when prices were as high as $15.00
