Nathan Deters AFM

The state climatologist tells us the last week was the wettest statewide since July 2010. Locally, heavy rain fell last Monday and Tuesday, with a lighter rin on Saturday night. We also recieved a few inches of snow on Thursday. Total amounts of rain for the week were a widespread 2 1/2 to 3 inches, with some areas farther to the east getting close to 5 inches. Needless to say, this was a welcome change in the weather and a real benefit for our dry soils. Another wet week is forecast, and with continued very cool weather, it looks like spring field work will be delayed until close to May.
