Nathan Deters AFM

A few scattered showers and some sub-30 degree nights are the only notable weather events of the past week.High winds continued, but the forecast calls for a few 70 degree highs which should put us close to seeing planters roll in the fields. At this point a starting date of the 20th looks reasonable. Soil temperatures are in the mid 40’s and we like to see mid 50’s before corn goes in the ground.

Markets both have seen some strength this week with planting right around the corner. At this point any delay in the midwest could cause an additional rally in both markets.
